John Hiseman, founding member of progressive band Colosseum passed away on June 12th. Hiseman lost his his fight with a brain tumor. A drummer and composer with personal style, you may also know him from his long stint with the German "band of band leaders" the United Jazz & Rock Ensemble.

Now really! Who is releasing cassette tapes in the digital age? Dauw a young Belgian label does.

Beautifully wrapped in a cardboard package, with inlay and dried flower, one can however only sympathize with so much love. They won a fan with me. The handmade artwork is done by Femke Strybol. Hurry up, a lot of editions are already sold out.

PS: no cassette player? Neither do I, when ordered on Bandcamp it comes of course with a digital download.

Black Flower is a Belgian band blending jazz and Ethiopian influences. Some of their records, like this Abyssinia Afterlife, are real beauties painted and designed by artist Kasper Baele.
